Life: Random, Messy, Beautiful... What.

Welp.

This is it. Last week as an undergraduate. Silly finals, we’re going to have our little soiree and shall never meet again. Though to be honest, my give-a-fuck-o-meter has dropped considerably, so don’t expect our encounter to be particularly engaging.

See y’all soon!

I feel domestic

I’m currently chillin’ here. With a glass of wine, listening to NPR. The laundry is running, and I’m sewing my pants together.

This is nice.

:D

EDIT: So I wrote this draft some weeks ago in a mental state that does not resemble sobriety. However, I still stand by my original statement and do say that it was a wonderful experience, but I admit that its wonder was facilitated by previous actions that can be described as narcotic.

Here it is.

So no shit, there I am right now, experiencing this.

I after a rather stressful evening of babysitting several young teenage up-n-comin’ rock climbers at UREC, I retreated to my home and decided to I really need to relax. I started putting on the radio, particulary Last.fm, just cuz I’m not that big a Pandora fan. Whatever, product placement over. Boo.

Right. I’d have “Somebody I Used to Know” by Gotye stuck in my head all day so I put on a Gotye-related radio station. And then I turn on the TV to see that my of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly is in on and I can watch it.

INSPIRATION FROM I DON’T KNOW WHERE SAYS:

Hey Andrew, why don’t you play the movie, but without sound, and just watch teh film while listening to whatever soundtrack happens to come on. This ought to be fun.

OH MAN WAS I RIGHT.

Clint Eastwood on a horse, riding somewhere now is ===>There’s a joyous gallop across a extensive desert landscape! OH HAPPY DAY! :D :D

Uh Oh. It’s the bad guy starind down a defenseless peasant family, Dad silently tells Mom and kid to leave the room to avoid possible danger from this mysterious stranger now is ====> Hey. Bitch and Spawn. GTFO I need alone time with Sexxaaaayy man. (Intense close up. Bow chicka bow wow.)

Clint Eastwood shooting hats off the heads of startled townsfolk now becomes ====> *Calliope music* A carnival game! Hooray!

Best Idea Ever.

Supercut of the Day: ”From Above”: A compilation of overhead shots of hands from the many wonderful films of Wes Anderson.

I love Anderson’s films for quirky cinematic decisions like these.

The Lions Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world. They have been swimming in arctic waters since before the dinosaurs (over 650 million years ago) and are among some of the oldest surviving species in the world.

The largest can come in at about 6 meters and has tentacles over 50 meters long. Pretty amazing when you think these things have been swimming around for so long.

They have hundreds of poisonous tentacles that it used to catch passing by fish. it then slowly drags in it’s prey and eats it.

That is terrifying.

Jellyfish! The cephalopod revolution is going to happen. I just know it.

A 375-Year-Old French Bank Forgives Debts of Paris’ Poorest

The Crédit Municipal de Paris, also known as the “Mont-de-piété,” the bank of the poor, has allowed the needy to get loans against their valuables for centuries—acting as a kind of ethical pawnshop, or the original microlender. To celebrate its 375th anniversary, thousands of lucky French people had their financial obligations forgiven after the country’s oldest bank decided to simply wipe their slates clean.
